We're back from the National Stationery Show

Posted by Jen Cramer

In case you were wondering where we disappeared to, we've been recovering from the National Stationery Show. What a blast that was... but all of the excitement of 4-day show does tend to leave you a little exhausted at the end!

I do have one bit of advice for those of you that go to the shows... if it sounds like a good idea to spend five days at a trade show, get back at 1 a.m. and then be up at 7 a.m. for a garage sale, you are very mistaken. Run very fast from that idea. I can tell you from experience. ; )

On a brighter note, I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day. We'll be back this afternoon with a Tuesdays with Tammy post and then I'll talk a little bit more about the Stationery Show tomorrow.

More from the National Stationery Show

Posted by Jen Cramer

We're still in New York at the National Stationery Show. Two days down and two to go! It's so much fun meeting new people and showing them what our GrandeMARK system can do to help them save time. They are so amazed. But many of you already know what it can do so let's get on to the projects!

Here are a few more projects that are on display in our booth...

Wedding

The response card and the thank you card in front were made with our new 4 Bar Cards die. It has two card shapes on one die and the die has registration pins to hold 8 1/2" x 11" paper. It saves a lot of time when you need to make 50, 100 or even more cards.

I also wanted to show some photos of the amazing wedding dress that Vicki Chrisman made for us last year. We loved it so much that we brought it to the show again.

Dress1

If I remember correctly, the front of the dress was made with Borders #2, Flowers #18, and Flowers #26.

The back of the dress added dies Flowers #6, Border-Interlocking #1, and Leaves #1.

And the dress wouldn't be complete without a matching bouquet!

Well, I have to head over to the show. Tomorrow I'll show more pics of our "beach" ensemble.

We're headed to CHA!

Posted by Jen Cramer

Packing for a show is a TON of work and our team does a great job pulling it all together. Here's Tammy, our trade show manager, trying to find a spot for one more box.

California, here we come!

And I thought I would share the Creative Cafe make and take we're having at CHA. Stop by our booth Sunday, Feb. 10, from 1-3 p.m. to make your own butterfly pin out of Spirit chipboard, paper and ric rac. It's so quick and easy and you can replicate it in your store. It uses two butterly dies: Butterfly #8 and Butterfly #9, which are part of our new Creative Cafe dies. Make sure you stop by!

Another CHA make and take sneak peak

Posted by Jen Cramer, Craft Division Director

I have to say this is absolutely one of my favorite new card samples for CHA, and it's going to be one of our make and takes (Booth #1651, 1-3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11).

3051birdycard2

In her A Little Birdy Told Me card, Traci Armbrust did a great job featuring not one but FOUR new dies: Ribbon Card (NC227CJ), Birds #1 (B1416J), Vintage (V1004LC) and Flourishes #3 (F1347S).

You can't see the inside of the 5 1/4" square card here, but the coolest part about this die is that it has an inside page that has scallop on the right side. You could even use the card die to make multi-page albums. If the inside gets too big for the outside cover, then all you need to do is to cut the card in half at the spine. That way you can make the album as thick as you want.

All of us are looking forward to CHA and, like everyone else exhibiting, we're busy packing our booth and all of our projects. We can't wait to show you all of our new dies and the new catalog. I'll round up some more pics to share soon.

Welcome to the AccuCut Craft Blog!

Posted by Jen Cramer, Craft Division Director

We're jumping feet first into blog-land with our new AccuCut Craft Blog that is dedicated to providing creative inspiration and smart business tips for those using AccuCut products in the craft industry.

In case you've stumbled across our blog, let me explain who we are... AccuCut markets the GrandeMARK roller die cutting system including thousands of steel-rule dies. You'll often find our commercial die cutting machine and dies in scrapbook store crop rooms and it's also a great tool for designers who want to make and sell their own cards, invitations, bags, boxes, etc.

So what will you find in our Craft Blog?

  • Lots of project ideas using AccuCut dies and related products for scrapbooking, stationery, bags, boxes, albums, home decor, gifts, etc.
  • Smart business ideas for how to use the GrandeMARK system to increase sales in a retail store
  • Sneak peeks at new products
  • On location reports (with photos!) from tradeshows
  • Product giveaways and challenges

I also hope that it's an open forum for our customers to share what has worked well for them and how they get the most out of their AccuCut die cutting centers.

And since I don't want to do all the talking, you'll also hear from Tammy Miller, our resident craft expert and tradeshow manager, as well as from Traci Armbrust, our sr. designer who creates hundreds and hundreds of craft projects each year that you will find in our Craft Catalog and online.

Speaking of Traci, let's go ahead and share one of her free make and takes at the upcoming CHA show:

Laughalbum3

The Laugh Every Day Album make and take will be in AccuCut's Booth (#1651) from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10. Make sure you get there early! This project uses three brand-new dies: License Plate #3 (L1408L), Flourishes #3 (F1347S) and Vintage (V1004LC). And the three license plates were cut out of our new heavyweight 12" x 12" black chipboard.

If you like that project, keep checking back this week for more CHA make and take sneek peaks!
