Sometimes it is hard to believe that I'm making Christmas projects already. I thought I'd show you a few different techniques with dies you might already have, or might need to get this Holiday season. In both of these projects I used dies from our Theme Album Set, designed by Danelle Johnson.
That thin black line you see is a crease. What is unique about these dies is if you cut them from chipboard or paper adhered to chipboard the crease is very defined. If you cut a sheet of cardstock the crease line does not appear. If you want a crease line in your sheet of cardstock you would simply shim a few sheets of paper or a piece of chipboard under the die.
You could create one of these for every month and change them out or just for those months with special holidays. In this project I used BasicGrey papers, Tattered Angel's Glimmer Mist, Crafty Secret's Seasonal Images and the calendar is by Jenni Bowlin. Once I glimmer misted the flowers they started to curl on their own and I just took a pencil and rolled it under each petal. The other dies I used in this project are A2 Cards-Frame, Accents-Antique, Border-Flourish, and Flowers #22 .
This 12" x 12' page is also using the Theme Album Set dies along with Flourish #11, Pennants #6, and Border-Interlocking #2. The paper is from BasicGrey, and I inked everything using Ranger Inc. Tim Holtz Distress Ink. I know you're thinking to yourself, did she list Pennants #6? I did! I just cut our 9" pennant down and flipped it so the point was on the top. I cut the tip off of a brown pennant and made that the trunk of the tree. Do you have any AccuCut Pennants? Post a link or a comment below or on our Facebook page about how you've used or are using our pennant dies.
