Wednesday's giveaway: Two dies to one winner!

Is everyone enjoying our National Scrapbooking Day giveaway spree this week? I've had so much fun giving away free products! Everyone is so creative and it's great to hear your ideas about how you would use the dies.
I'm feeling especially generous today so let's give away not one but TWO dies to one lucky winner. Both are new dies that were introduced in January and will work wonderfully together.
The first die is Birds #1 (the long cut size). I know we've given this one away before but everyone loves it so much I thought we should give away another one.

This Maya Road Half Circle Binder album uses both the jumbo and the long cut sizes of the die. (The long cut bird is the smaller one of the two and is a little more than 3 1/2" wide.) I also have to mention that decorating the Maya Road binders is so easy when you have the die to match. You can see all of our Maya Road dies on our site.
Here's one more project that shows another bird that's on the Birds #1 die. This Thinking of You card is so sweet. The bird is placed on one of our new Convertibles cards using a new Brackets insert. If you haven't seen them you can learn more about Convertibles cards and albums here.
And the "bonus" die is our new small Flourishes #4 die. They are the perfect size to put a bird right on top of them!
So how can you enter our drawing to win these two dies? Just click on the "comments" link below this post and let me know one thing that you'd like to see more of on our blog or what we can add to it to make sure you keep coming back (except giveaways...we already know you like those!). Do you want to see more techniques? How about videos? Guest bloggers? More scrapbooking or more cards? You name it. Leave your comment by 9 a.m. CST tomorrow morning (Thursday 5/8) to be entered in our drawing. Good luck! *** Entries are no longer being accepted. ***

I would love to see more samples, using the same die cuts on cards and scrapbook pages, to show the versatility & give us ideas.
Guest contributors with projects & instructions would also be great. I am always looking for class projects to teach.

I would love to see more samples - it is hard to keep coming up with ideas for classes.
Posted by: Diana | May 07, 2008 at 09:48 AM
I like to see all kinds of stuff-techniques, cards and especially books.
With so many book dies, it would be great to have a feature on various little or big books!

What great dies for applique! I can already see leather flourishes on blue jeans & chenille birds on tote bags just to start!

I propose having days designated as "fabric" days, showing ideas and techniques for cutting and using materials other than paper. Cards (or a handbag) can be made of stiffened wool and decorated with silk birds cut from recycled ties.

I want to see more samples of the various creative café products!
Posted by: Sandy | May 07, 2008 at 10:37 AM
I would love guest bloggers as well as alternatives uses for dies - not just ones taken from the main site. I also really enjoy techniques and tips.
Posted by: Crystal | May 07, 2008 at 10:40 AM
I love to see new ideas that others come up with. It's the inspiration that gets my creative juices flowing.
Posted by: Lori Dziuba | May 07, 2008 at 10:44 AM
I would love to see more video techniques. New creative ways to use the die cuts would be great also.

Since we are a general craft store, I'd love to see more uses for the die cuts than just scrapbooking. For instance, I've used thin sheets of baked polymer clay through the machine with alphabet and shape dies to decorate home decor items and altered book covers. More ideas like that would be great!
Hero Arts has been doing scrapbook pages with matching cards using their stamp sets on their blog - you could do the same with your die cut shapes. I'd love to see guest bloggers pass along their ideas for both cards and layouts giving us creative ways to use your new dies as they come out!

More project ideas and more variety and multiple uses demo'd would be great! I am the type of person that likes to use one supply in a multitude of ways because you get more mileage from each product you have! I also use products I already have for many the different crafts thatI do! I do scrapbooking, cardmaking and quiltmaking, along with a few other spur of the moment crafts that I am suddenly inspired to create!

I would like to see more techniques on combining your dies to make embellisments - using various supplies, such as felt, paper, chipboard.

Techniques for sure! I love seeing all the projects using your dies. :)

awsome

I like the suggestions you mentioned! (tech, video tutorials, guest bloggers) All fun! A variety of great samples (which you're already doing) Try as I might I cannot come up with anything new!

I'd love to see more ideas, more scrapbook page layouts on your blog. I love having your dies in my store and my customers love them too but more ideas on how to use some of them would be wonderful! Thanks. Great blog!

I like step by step directions with pictures for the more difficult steps. Or this could be incorporated into short videos like Karen Werner does for the Monday card videos on her blog.

Would love to see layering of different dies on scrapbook pages. In our monthly clipboard class this week, I used three different flourish dies and layered them to make a "Very Vintage" decorative clipboard. It would be great to see another person's viewpoint on layering for pages.

I would love to see more videos to help me learn how to make better use of all dies. Seeing is the way I learn best. I would love to see more cards to make and especially ways to make terrific envelopes to match those cards. I would love to see ideas that are "out of the box" of ways to use the dies in different ways. I LOVE using them for cards and scrapbooking but I know these wonderful tools can be used in more ways. By the way, I love the two dies that are featured as give a ways. I'm loving all the ways to use flourishes!!! Thank you for asking our opinions.

I always love seeing new techniques as well as "reminder" techniques. Video instruction would be great too.

Samples, samples, samples! Seeing what you have done always sparks my creativity!
Posted by: Diana | May 07, 2008 at 12:57 PM
What a great web-site! As a newcomer to scrapping this is a great resource for inspiration. The bird die, used in conjunction with the flourishes die, would be a wonderful adornment for layouts and cards. Keep up the good work! I look forward to checking back daily for design ideas and new products. Thanks!

I would love to see more projects using fabric. Thanks for asking!

I always love to see techniques. It seems like someone always has one more great way to use dies. This bird is so precious!
Posted by: Bonney | May 07, 2008 at 01:17 PM
I would definitely like to see more samples. There is a group of us that love using your dies during our monthly Scrap Club and more ideas would help get our creativity flowing.

Please keep the projects coming ... they are so helpful. Techniques are always great too. I have to say, your blog is wonderful because you keep it viable - of interest - so we are always looking to it for ideas. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!

I'd love to see fun ways to dress up the diecuts. It's nice to cut a bird from pretty paper and add it to a project, but just think how fun it would be if you could take that ordinary bird and apply a technique to it and make something beyond the ordinary - to transform it into an artistic embellishment. Ideas like that would excite me!

this is a die that I wouldn't probably choose right away, but if I win it and start playing with it the possibilites are endless
Posted by: Michele | May 07, 2008 at 01:54 PM
I would like to see more samples using embossing textures.
Posted by: cassandra | May 07, 2008 at 02:08 PM
I really enjoy seeing layout or project ideas. Thanks for the great ispiration.

Techniques with samples - I'm very visual, so I always look at the images before reading the text. Also, I'd like to know how others use the dies, so a featured guest blogger showing a unique technique would be great! I constantly use "parts" of a die design to incorporate into my products which alters the use entirely--if anyone has suggestions on how to prevent a cut from part of the die, I would love that information! thanks!

I would love to see more scrapbooking pages and unique techniques!

I would love to win these two dies.

i would love to see some videos of unusual ways of using dies - maybe you could use one die in 10 ways to show the possibilities it has? love whet you are doing on the blog now - keep up the fab comps!!

I love everything you currently have on the blog plus would like to see more home decor items made with Accucut dies.
Posted by: VickieK | May 07, 2008 at 05:06 PM
I would like to see more videos. I love to see hands on techniques. It makes so much easier to follow for those of us who like visuals.
I would also like to see more guest bloggers. I find it interesting to see what others are doing with the dies.
I would also like to see some challenges. Like for those who have the A7 card dies we are looking for...and if you have a mini book die. That sort of thing...a challenge blog! Have us send them in, just to see what comes up.
Or have a day where we could send you what we would do with a certain die if we have it or not. Post ways you have recieved to use that particular die.
I love your blog and am always sending customers to. It gives them inspiration as well as me.
Thank you for all the hard work you do!

I'm always looking for samples *and* techniques.

I'm a HUGE craft fan and LOVE my accucut machine and dies!!! I can spend hours thumbing through your 2008 craft magazine! I would love to see what other crafters are doing with your diecuts...or maybe just more examples of what these amazing dies are capable of creating!
Posted by: Karie | May 07, 2008 at 06:10 PM
Those birds are too cool.
I'd love more samples and tutorials for cool techniques... especially for scrapbook pages. I'd love to see reader spotlights, one die 3 ways type of thing, using one die to make a different shape (hearts turned into flowers, etc...) to maximize the use of what we have.
Thanks!

My father passed away 2 months ago and I made an album. He was a fireman. I cut the flourish out of orange cardstock and red vellum and used it as flames in his book. It really turned out nice.

Fiber art, fabric, felt --- oh Penny Rugs -- thats my favorite, love using these to create felt appliques too; and would so enjoy more fabric applications. Thanks for asking.

Bird Dies
I love these bird dies. You can make your own keychain like maya road has available for purchase. I have used them as book markers attached and hanging in books, decorated my scrapbook pages with them after painting, inking, covering them with paper or using glimmer mist on them. I have used the Tim Holtz hammer to give them some dimemsion and patterns to them. Made cads with just flew in to say hello printed on them. So many wonderful things you can do with them. I would love to have these dies as you definetly could use them over and over again.
Posted by: Kelle Thomas | May 07, 2008 at 07:00 PM
Sorry the fireman book I used the flourish dies for the flames.
